Top 10 states with the highest uninsured rate

As the fate of the nation’s uninsured rate remains ill-defined in the midst of the new administration’s policies, personal-finance website WalletHub conducted an in-depth analysis of the top cities and states with the highest and lowest uninsured rates for 2017.

“The future of American healthcare continues to be hazy. We have conducted this study for a number of years since the ACA has been in place, and will continue to do so as long as it is the law of the land,” says WalletHub Analyst, Jill Gonzalez.

WalletHub’s analysts compared the rates for 547 U.S. cities and the 50 states, in addition to a breakdown by age, race/ethnicity and income level. Here are the top 10 states, according to the report, with the highest uninsured rate.
